Located between the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Palazzo Odeon occupies a unique position, surrounded by historic streets, theatres, prestigious cafés and institutional headquarters.
Initially a wooden theatre, then a power station, it was in the early 1900s that the building definitively acquired its cultural vocation and returned to being a performance space, becoming the city’s first multiplex cinema in 1986.
Today, the property is undergoing a major renovation project that aims to combine memory and vision, with a view to restoring one of Milan’s most iconic venues to the city, with spaces that will be occupied by organisations of excellence. In particular, starting in 2027, Palazzo Odeon will once again host a cinema with five completely renovated theatres, respecting the historical value of the premises, for a total of approximately 700 seats, which will occupy the entire basement floor. Meanwhile, redevelopment work continues on the building, which will also house Rinascente Odeon Beauty Hall, an experiential hub dedicated to beauty.
